Trade union federation Cosatu in Nelson Mandela Bay has added its voice of concern to the political instability in the Metro.
Cosatu, along with civic body Sangoco, Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber and the Ratepayers Association, on Monday spoke of possible legal action to bring stability to the city.
This, in the wake of reported interference by mayor, Benson Fihla, in the work of newly appointed city manager, Lindiwe Msengana-Ndlela.
Speaking at a media briefing, Sangoco spokesperson, Mongameli Piter, said the city's political leaders should be upholding their constitutional mandate.
"As a consequence of that we are now having a complete disregard of the main mandate that is give to the council to ensure that there is service delivery" Piter said
These sentiments were echoed by Cosatu's Andile Bloko.
"We as a federation joined hands with civil society organisations in an attempt to talk sense to the national leadership so that they can quickly intervene in the continued in fighting in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro" Bloko said.
