Large parts of Uitenhage are still without water following a pipe burst and the death of a worker on site.
A spokesperson for the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Mthubanzi Mniki says teams are still busy.
He says due to the fatal accident they can only access the site during the day as per instructions by the Department of Labour.
Mniki says they hope to have the pipe fixed by Friday in order to restore water by the evening.
He urged residents to use water sparingly and says due to the huge demand and usage there is a strong possibility that the Uitenhage CBD and Industrial areas will also be affected.
Water tankers have been deployed and residents are urged to contact their ward councillors for exact locations.
The metro earlier this week gave a list of affected areas, but Mniki says they are now too vast.
