Eastern Cape residents will have to hold onto their hats this weekend.
The PE Branch of the SA Weather Service has issued a weather warning for Friday as a cold front passes over the Western Cape, with strong bergwind flow over the Eastern Cape region.
Maximum temperatures will rise to the mid-'20s but strong to gale force winds with gusts in excess of 85km/h are expected over the western interior of the province.
On Saturday, the cold front passes over the southern parts of the Eastern Cape, with gale force westerly winds over the coastal belt and adjacent interior, reaching Nelson Mandela Bay around lunchtime.
Rainfall is expected in the form of light showers.
Conditions will start clearing from the west on Sunday afternoon
