The SA Weather Service says a fresh cold front will hit the Western Cape this weekend, spreading along the Garden Route to the Eastern Cape.
However, forecaster Puseletso Mofokeng says the front is not likely to bring snow and heavy rain as last weekend's front did.
He says though that the chill will spread to the Eastern Cape and most of the Northern Cape by Saturday.
Meanwhile, Eastern Cape police disaster management spokesperson, captain John Fobian, said although all passes are open, motorists should be careful as they remain slippery because of melting snow.
He said order had mostly been restored in the province following a weekend of chaos.
The downpour in Port Elizabeth led to the evacuation of about 2,000 people, while several tourists and residents stuck in the Baviaanskloof area were airlifted to freedom on Monday.
Five people reportedly died in the southern Cape as a result of the weather, while two fatalities were reported in the Eastern Cape.
