The Knysna Municipality is appealing to residents to use water sparingly as water resources run low.
In a statement issued on Wednesday the Municipality said that the Knsyna River is lower than average while demand for water remains very high.
Water restrictions remain in place and the Knysna Municipality has reminded residents about the times when gardens can be watered.
This week Knysna Municipality Mayor, Georlene Womarans announced the construction of a new water reservoir in a bid to keep up with the growth in the number of households.
The project, which is expected to be completed by June is being funded by the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements to the tune of 5.3 million rand.
