The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says the strike by waste management workers has been called off and refuse collection will resume as normal.
Mayoral Spokesperson, Sibongile Dimbaza says this follows a meeting between the municipality and employees after a group of workers parked rubbish trucks in Govan Mbeki Avenue blocking traffic this morning.
Dimbaza says the strike was over various grievances which includes working hours.
He says the workers want to be compenstated for working during their lunch hour.
Dimbaza says although refuse collection will resume today engagements between the two parties are ongoing to resolve all the issues.
