A Schauderville resident who woke up to find an intruder had broken into her home, was left gobsmacked when the man placed her underwear on his head and proceeded to pleasure himself in front of her.
After he entered the complainant's home, the man asked her to point him in the direction of her underwear drawer.
She complied.
Brandishing the woman's underwear on his head, the man dropped his pants and allegedly also asked her to simulate sexual sounds.
When he was satisfied, the alleged intruder reached for the woman's cell phone and casually left the premises.
It is unclear whether the perpetrator had fled the scene with the underwear still on his head.
The 35-year-old man, whose identity is known to Algoa FM, cannot be named until he has pleaded.
He faces three charges namely housebreaking, theft, and compelling a person to witness a sexual offence.
When the case was called at the Gqeberha Magistrates Court on Wednesday, the accused did not appear before court.
Numerous attempts by the court orderly to locate him in the building proved futile.
A warrant for his immediate arrest was authorised by the court.
According to the charge sheet, the complainant reported the incident to police in January 2022.
The man was arrested on 15 January and made his first appearance in the Gelvandale Magistrates Court two days later.
The case was transferred to the Magistrates Court in light of one of the charges being a sexual offense.
Before his non-compliance to appear before the court on Wednesday, the accused was out on warning.
