Ironman organisers are warning Nelson Mandela Bay residents to be on the lookout for con artists posing as Spec-Savers IRONMAN South Africa representatives.
Ironman spokesman Michael Flanagan says they're driving a white Toyota Corolla with unauthorised Ironman branding.
Flanagan says they're targeting Bed & Breakfasts and hotels in Port Elizabeth - particularly in the Summerstrand, Kragga Kamma and Sunridge Park areas.
They operate by distracting the reception staff while another steals items such as laptops, cameras and cell phones.
Flanagan says there are three women and one man of African descent who have been seen.
