Port Elizabeth police have arrested a wanted gang member at a house in Blesbok Street in Helenvale.
Col Pricilla Naidu says members of the Gelvandale Crime Prevention Unit followed up after receiving information on Saturday, and proceeded to a shack at the back of a house and found 22-year old Jerome Prince, aka Rompa, inside.
She says he is wanted for an attempted murder case allegedly committed in October 2018 in Helenvale.
Naidu says the 21-year old complainant was standing on the roof of his house in Chamois Street in Helenvale, when Prince, who was in the street at the time, fired shots at him.
No injuries were sustained during the incident.
Col Naidu says detectives are busy probing possible links to other cases.
Prince will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court on Monday on a charge of attempted murder.
