Volkswagen SA
Kariega-based motor vehicle manufacturer Volkswagen says it's been made aware of an online scam in which fake job vacancies are being advertised at VWSA.
Head Group Communications Andile Dlamini says the scamsters are then charging the applicants money during the recruitment process.
He says the scam takes advantage of job seekers by requiring payment before they are interviewed, and again when they are sent a false appointment letter featuring the old Volkswagen logo.
Dlamini says VWSA would never charge money at any point in its recruitment process, and all job vacancies are listed directly on the Careers page on the company website.
He said the company condemned the scam and had opened a case with the Kariega police.
VWSA is urging job seekers to not trust job listings that require payment and to report any such listings to their nearest police station.
