A man who was killed by an alleged drunk driver in Kariega has finally been identified.
The 45-year-old Timayi Ndabambi died after being dragged underneath a vehicle.
Spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says Ndabambi resided on a farm in Rooihoogte and was identified by his family on Wednesday morning.
He was killed on the 1st of August when an alleged drunk driver hit him with his car moments after leaving a club in Durban Street.
Captain Swart says the driver was alerted by an eyewitness who told him that he was dragging a person underneath his vehicle.
Ndabambi was certified dead on the scene moments after paramedics and police arrived.
Captain Swart says the 45-year-old motorist was arrested for culpable homicide and drunk driving but has not yet appeared in court.
She says the court is still waiting for his blood-alcohol report that is needed in the docket to proceed.
