The murder trial of Vicki Terblanche resumed in the Gqeberha High Court on Monday morning.
The State led evidence of extractions received from the cellular devices of murder accused Reinhardt Leach, Vicki's boyfriend at the time and her estranged husband, who the State believes is the mastermind in the murder.
Extractions were also taken from the state's 204 witness, Mario De Ridder Junior, although that testimony was not laid before the court in Leach's trial.
The state played several phone calls in court between Terblanche and Leach, where they discussed his need for a letter from Leach describing how Vicki was a lousy mother due to her drug abuse.
Terblanche did not want the lawyers to know it came from him, so he told Leach what to say in the letter, stating that he would need it by the 19th of October 2021, which was a day after Vicki's murder.
He said he offered to pay for Vicki to undergo a drug test, but she refused, to which Leach replied she would, as she knows she would have failed the test.
In the conversations shown in court, Leach informs Terblanche that he had obtained different sim cards, which are not Rica'd and that they should continue their conversations, to which he complied.
In one message to Leach, Terblanche expressed his concern over his son's safety and that he should not see anything happen to his mother. He said the "ugly things" he planned were for later.
In one message shown in court, Leach tells Terblanche that he was doing someone a favour to go to pick up some "Ysters" in Cape Town and that this guy would do the deed as he is owed a favour.
Leach then asked for a faster vehicle, and Terblanche said Wiggill's bakkie was in for a service, and they were on their way to East London.
When Leach asked for an upgrade, there was a long silence on the other side of the phone before Terblanche asked if they would take cash.
Leach told him to leave the money at security, which he did.
In other WhatsApp messages, Terblanche speaks to a family member to inform him that Vicki' was dating a "cocaine cop perlie smuggler" stating that he hoped he (Leach) "moered" her dead.
Several screenshots of conversations between his then-girlfriend Krystal Wiggill and her sister Charissa were also on Terblanche's phone.
The state will call its last witness after lunch.
