Former school teacher Reinhardt Leach continued his cross-examination by the state in the ongoing murder trial of Vicki Terblanche.
State Prosecutor Marius Stander highlighted calls made by Vicki's husband, Arnold, to Intercape on the afternoon of the 20th of October, the day the deceased had already been moved from her home.
Leach said by then, Arnold had already been informed that Vicki was killed, and he asked him to book tickets on Intercape for his abalone divers to get back to Cape Town.
The cellphone billing showed Terblanche making another call to Intercape the following day.
The billing showed that hours before Intercape was phoned, Arnold sent a message to Leach expressing his hope that there was no misunderstanding between them.
Arnold wanted no part in what Leach was doing in terms of asking for fast cars and boats, essentially distancing himself from the murder plot.
Leach said it was all a smokescreen and would be willing to testify against Terblanche for the state when his matter goes on trial in October.
The trial was postponed to Monday when Advocate Stander will discuss the final aspect of his cross-examination.
Closing arguments are also expected to conclude next week.
