Eastern Cape police say the Dimbaza, New Brighton, Willowvale and Whittlesea police stations are now fully operational after they were temporarily closed after members tested positive for COVID-19.
All health protocols have since been followed and the affected members have been quarantined or isolated accordingly.
Police management provisionally closed the stations so that the facilities could be decontaminated under the guidance of the Department of Health.
The Motherwell, King William’s Town and Bhisho police stations were also decontaminated and are expected to open on Saturday.
Decontamination at the Graaff Reinet police station is underway and the station will be fully operational on Monday.
Lusikisiki and Flagstaff will be decontaminated on Monday and are expected to be open by Wednesday.
Swartkops and Fort Beaufort police stations were closed on Friday and will be decontaminated soon.
Meanwhile, the Fort Beaufort police station is currently closed after one of its members tested positive for Covid-19.
National police spokesperson, Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo says the town's community Service Centre will now be operating from new premises at the Army Base.
He says the police station is currently being decontaminated and the community will be informed when the station will be operational again.
