A 46-year-old woman is expected to appear in the East London Magistrates Court on Thursday after police found an unlicensed firearm hidden between her thighs.
Spokesperson Captain Hazel Mqala says police received a tip-off about a man living in Beacon Bay who is alleged to be in possession of a firearm.
She says when they arrived on the scene they produced the search warrant and were granted permission by the man to search the house.
Captain Mqala says during the search they noticed the suspect's wife acting very strange and a female officer was ordered to do a body search.
The gun and a magazine with six live rounds of ammunition were found hidden between her thighs.
When she failed to produce a license she was arrested.
