The state has provisionally withdrawn charges against a man arrested as part of the investigation into the death of a receptionist at St George's Hospital.
Police arrested the man in Kensington on Monday on a charge of murder, but he was released on Wednesday after the state provisionally withdrew the case against him.
His arrest was a sequel to the shooting of 49-year-old Carol Anne Maghielies on Sunday evening after she finished her shift at the hospital on Sunday night.
Her ex-boyfriend, 51-year-old Elgin Maghienda, was found along Marine Drive the following day with a gunshot wound.
No foul play is suspected in his death.
Police meanwhile suspected that the other man had driven Maghielies to the hospital and then dropped him off along the beachfront afterward.
