A man was killed by a car on Wednesday morning when he ran across the N2 Freeway in Gqeberha.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the unknown man, wearing sandals and a tracksuit, was hit by a VW light delivery vehicle just before the Gelvandale off-ramp in the direction of Deal Party.
She says the driver of the vehicle was unable to stop in time and collided with the pedestrian.
The man was declared dead on the scene.
Any person who might assist in identifying him is asked to make contact with Mount Road police.
