Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of culpable homicide after an unknown man died in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says at about 10 pm, the victim, driving a white Isuzu KB LDV on the N2 left the road, landing in the river.
She says as he neared the Settlers Bridge in Bluewater Bay, the vehicle went through the gap just before the bridge.
Police could not yet identify the victim as his car is registered to a bank.
Colonel Naidu says any person who can assist in identifying the victim or tracing his next of kin is urged to contact Detective Warrant Officer Jacque Leonard at Swartkops SAPS on 082 847 4756.
