Despatch police are appealing to members of the public to assist them in identifying a man who was killed after being hit by a train.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, said the incident happened at half past seven on Thursday night at the railway track close to Holland Street in Despatch.
Swart said the man, believed to be in his 40's, was wearing blue jeans, black shoes and a black-and-white top.
He had not identification documents on him.
Swart said a case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
