Police in Port Elizabeth are looking for the parents of a 2-year-old boy who died at the Livingstone Hospital on Tuesday, shortly after being admitted.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says according to hospital staff the child was brought in by an unknown man who told them that the child had fallen off his bed.
She says while doctors were treating him, he died.
When staff approached the unknown man to inform him of the death, he ran away.
Janse van Rensburg says nobody has any information about the child or the coloured man who brought him in.
Police have opened an inquest docket pending the results of the post mortem report.
Police are appealing to anyone who may know the parents or the child to urgently contact Detective Warrant Officer Neil Hendriks at SAPS Gelvandale on 0824421816
