A woman who has not yet been identified has died following a collision on the N2 underneath the Commercial Road bridge in Nelson Mandela Bay.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says the deceased was a passenger in a Nissan NP 200 bakkie.
It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with one of the pillars underneath the bridge just after midday on Tuesday.
Janse Van Rensburg says she died at the scene and the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries and they have not yet been able to talk to him.
She says no other vehicles were involved in the crash and no one has yet come forward to identify her.
