King William’s Town police have opened a double-murder investigation following the discovery of the bodies of a man and woman in their car on the side of the R346 outside town.
Captain Mluleki Mbi says the deceased were both found with gunshot wounds to the upper body inside a vehicle they are believed to have rented.
The chairperson of the local community contacted police after a herdsmen told him that he had heard gunshots around four pm on Tuesday.
On arrival at the scene, police found the vehicle still idling.
The motive for the murders as well as the identities of the deceased are unknown and anyone with information is asked to contact their nearest police station.
