Uitenhage police have arrested one of two suspects after a cigarette truck was robbed of goods worth more than R170 000.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer, Basil Seekoei, says a driver delivering cigarettes in Kw Langa, Uitenhage, on Friday morning, was accosted by two men.
He says they loaded several boxes of cigarettes into a white Citigolf before fleeing.
Seekoei says swift action by police led to the arrest and the recovery of the stolen loot.
The suspect will appear in court on Monday on a charge of armed robbery.
