Uitenhage policeman faces disciplinary action following arrest for rape

A Uitenhage policeman who was arrested for the alleged rape of a woman at the Kwanobuhle police station will face internal proceedings.
Provincial police spokesperson, brigadier Marinda Mills, says disciplinary proceedings will be brought against the police constable who appeared in court on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old was granted bail of R2 000 and his case remanded to the 4th of March.
He was arrested last Thursday after a woman opened a case against him.
Police said the alleged rape occurred at the Kwanobuhle police station on Sunday the third.
The woman and her boyfriend are reportedly in protective custody.
