Parents of Solomon Mahlangu High School in Uitenhage are picketing outside the education department's district offices.
They closed the school on Thursday after authorities failed to deliver furniture to a newly renovated building, which was refurbished at a cost of R2-million and has been standing empty for more than a year.
According to the school governing body, it's because the Bhisho Education Department does not have the R88-thousand needed to transport the school's furniture from East London to Kwanobuhle.
However, The Department of Education in The Eastern Cape is disputing the fact that its refusing or unable to deliver desks to the high school.
School Governing Body chairperson, Buyile Nkumanda says they will be addressing department officials on Friday morning.
