Uitenhage man perishes in fire

A Uitenhage man has died in a fire which gutted his house.

Police spokesperson, warrant officer Gerda Swart, says the body of 39-year-old, Deon Daniels, was found in the rubble of the house early Saturday morning.

She says the cause of the fire which destroyed the house in the Tiepvalley informal settlement is not yet known.

An inquest docket has been opened.
