Uitenhage police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, after a vehicle with five occupants was involved in an accident on the R75 - Graaff Reinet Road early on Sunday morning.
WO Swart says the vehicle overturned and crashed into a barrier next to the road.
She says a 36-year-old man from Kamesh, who was a passenger in the car, died at the scene.
The injured were admitted to the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital in a serious condition.
