Uitenhage police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder, following a shooting incident in which a 21-year-old man was fatally wounded.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, said the incident happened shortly before 1 pm on the corners of Acacia Road and Kingfisher Drive in Rosedale on Tuesday.
She said the two victims were talking to another man who was sitting in his car when they were approached by two suspects who opened fire.
Both men standing outside the vehicle were struck by bullets.
The 21-year-old was shot in the upper body and died on the scene.
A second man aged 32 was rushed to a local hospital with a gunshot wound in the upper leg.
The motive for the murder and attempted murder is not known at this stage and is being investigated.
Captain Swart said the name of the victim will be released after formal identification is completed.
