The Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court has handed suspended sentences to two Zimbabwean nationals, implicated in the brutal murder of two elderly women at the St Johns Stella Londt Retirement Centre in Sunridge Park last month.
Panganai Mabwe and Craig Madiro have been convicted on charges of money laundering, after entering into a plea agreement with the state.
The two have admitted that they intentionally acquired a stolen cellphone belonging to one the victims, from a co-accused in the matter.
Mabwe was fined R5000 or 24 months imprisonment, plus a further 24 months suspended sentence, provided he is not found guilty of theft within the next three years.
Hi co-accused, Madiro was also handed a suspended sentence of 24 months under the same conditions on Friday.
The other three accused in the case are expected back in court for the continuation of their bail hearing on Monday.
