Two suspects were arrested for the murder of elderly Aliwal North resident Sam van der Westhuizen.
78-year-old Van der Westhuizen's body was found by neighbours on Sunday.
Police Captain, Ursula Roelofse said the 47 and 37 -year -old suspects were arrested earlier this morning by an Aliwal North task team at their homes in nearby Dukhathole and Joe Gqabi townships.
The task team, consisting of detectives, crime inteligence and the K9 dog unit, made the arrests following a tip off.
A cellphone, 22mm rifle and other items stolen from van der Westhuizen's home were recovered during the arrest of the suspects.
They're being held in custody and will appear in the Aliwal North Magistrate's court on Monday.
