Two Eastern Cape rugby players have been killed in a road accident near Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, WO Gerda Swart says 13 members of the Mighty Blues rugby team were injured, after the VW microbus in which they were travelling overturned on the R334 near Uitenhage in the direction of Paterson on Saturday afternoon.
She says the driver allegedly lost control near the Aalwynshoek abattoir turnoff , and it overturned.
Swart says two occupants, aged 21 and 26 died at the scene.
She says the injured were admitted to various hospitals in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
