Two of the six trial-awaiting inmates who escaped from the SADA Correctional Centre in Komani two weeks ago have been re-arrested.
Correctional Services spokesperson, Nobuntu Gantana said Lebohang Wellem and Siyabulela Mtshobi were rearrested last Tuesday in Keiskammahoek.
She said four other escapees are still at large. They face various charges including murder, robbery, pointing of a firearm and housebreaking.
Meanwhile, eight more trial-awaiting inmates who escaped from the Mount Ayliff prison cells on Saturday are also still at large.
An investigation into how they escaped is currently underway.
Law officials have appealed to the public not apprehend the escapees as they are considered dangerous.
