A Port Elizabeth woman was killed and another shot and wounded in two suspected gang-related shootings this weekend.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says a 27-year-old woman died in hospital after being shot in Catherine Road in Salsoneville on Friday night.
He says two men allegedly opened fire on a group of people inside a garage at a house, wounding two other people.
In another shooting in the early hours of Saturday morning, an 18-year-old woman was shot twice in the legs in Bethelsdorp, Extension 32.
No arrests were made in either cases.
Meanwhile, Labans says a 43-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his elderly father who died as a result of his injuries.
He says the family tragedy occurred in Lawrence Erasmus Drive in Bethelsdorp, Port Elizabeth.
Labans says an 81-year-old man died after he was assaulted with a blunt object.
The man's son was arrested and will appear in court soon.
