Two PE gangsters sentenced to life behind bars

Two Port Elizabeth gang members have been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, housebreaking, kidnapping and the illegal possession of a firearm.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says Damian Kammies , Warren Steyn and Deilon Makopa were arrested in November 2016, after the body of 40-year old Mohamed Abdulla was found in an open field by a passer-by in Malabar.

She says he sustained a gunshot wound in the face, and his body was covered with branches.

Naidu says investigations later revealed that the deceased was earlier at a house in Shauderville, when three men broke down the door, looking for someone.

Abdulla was accused of knowing the whereabouts of this person and he was forcefully taken from the house.

That was the last time he was seen alive.

The three suspects were arrested after a vehicle chase with the police.

Kammies and Steyn were sentenced on Friday, while Makopa was acquitted on all charges.
