Gqeberha police have arrested two suspects and confiscated abalone and a vehicle worth around R1.8-million at a business premises in West End.
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment, Sanparks as well as a private security company were also part of the operation that took place on Friday.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandre Janse van Rensburg said during the search a total of 7,388 units of abalone and a green Toyota bakkie were confiscated.
The suspects aged 59 and 30 have been detained on charges of contravening the Marine Living Resources Act.
They are expected to appear in court on Monday.
