Two murder suspects have been arrested in Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha says a 39-year-old man was arrested in the town's CBD on Friday for possession of an unlicensed firearm and 50 live rounds of ammunition.
He says later in the day, a 31-year-old man was arrested for murder.
Manatha says both suspects are linked with murders that have been committed around Ngcobo recently.
They will appear in the town's Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and murder.
Manatha says the recovered firearm will be sent for ballistic tests to establish if it was not used in the commission of crimes in the area.
