The Eastern Cape man, who was arrested for the murder of his wife, has been denied bail.
Iverno Baatjies and his co-accused, Brecht Victor appeared in the King Williams Town Court on Monday.
Baatjies was taken into custody on Saturday after a community members threatened to burn his mother's house.
Captain Siphokazi Mawisa, says his wife's body, 36-year-old Carmelitta Baatjes, was found in a shallow grave under a bed in a shack outside a house in Breidbach after she had gone missing.
Baatjes and Victor will return to court next week Monday.
