Two men convicted of the murder of a Jeffreys Bay businessman

The Port Elizabeth high court has convicted two Cape Town men of the murder of Jeffreys Bay businessman in 2010.
Judge Xoliswa Bacela on Wednesday found 40-year-old Mthobeli Nkonki and 37-year-old Thanduxolo Nzangwa guilty of shooting Gert Coetzer during a robbery at a cash loans business in May that year.
A third accused, Mzuvukile Qunta, of Jeffreys Bay, was acquitted, while a fourth accused died while awaiting trial.
In her her judgement, judge Bacela said phone records had shown that the men knew each long before the incident and that they had travelled together from Cape Town to Jeffreys Bay to commit the crime.
