Police in Gqeberha are investigating two cases of attempted murder after community members assaulted two men in Sidwell.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says SAPS Algoa Park responded to a complaint in Kempston Road on Tuesday afternoon where they found one of the men badly assaulted.
She says upon arrival the second victim was already transported to hospital.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says it is unclear at this stage who assaulted the men. but according to information on the scene, they were accused of trying to rob a member of the community when they retaliated.
She says, however, that no attempted robbery case was opened.
A video of the incident went viral on social media on Tuesday.
