Two men arrested for murder of missing PE man

Police in Port Elizabeth have arrested two suspects aged 21 and 22 for the murder of a New Brighton man who was reported missing earlier this week.

Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says 39-year-old Ndano Siboto was reported missing by his family after he did not return home.

A photograph of his black Mercedes Benz was circulated and the car was found in Motherwell in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Colonel Naidu says a further investigation led to members tracing Siboto's cellphone to a person in Central who had bought it from the alleged killers, one of whom was arrested soon thereafter.

The second suspect was arrested at his house in Springdale in Gelvandale late on Thursday night.

She says members later received information about a body found in a field in Crossandra Street in Malabar. It was identified as that of Siboto, who had sustained several bruises to his body and head.

Colonel Naidu says while the suspects are detained on a murder charge and will appear in court soon, the motive for the murder remains unknown.

Siboto was the second body found in Malabar on Thursday.

Colonel Naidu says police were called out to a murder scene in Malabar Extension 6 where they found the body of a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head.
