A man, who was found guilty of murdering an elderly Knysna couple in Hunters Home last year, has been handed two life sentences in the Knysna Circuit Court.
The accused, Thulani Vambayo murdered 67-year old Brian Davis and his 64-year old wife Christine during a robbery at their home in Lindsay Street last August.Christina was found in the couple's lounge with an open wound to the neck, while her husband was found alive but seriously injured in their garage. He died in the George Hospital six days later.
Police arrested Vambayo, after a car belonging to the deceased and other stolen items were found in his possession.
Meanwhile almost two years after a 56-year-old woman from Great Brak River was brutally attacked in her home in Sandhoogte Road, her two attackers will be sentenced in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on Friday.
The accused, Lionel Kennedy and the 46-year-old Joseph Motlomelo were found guilty of house robbery with the intent to steal, robbery with aggravating circumstances and attempted murder.
On the day of the attack the victim was home alone when the two men of which one was a formal employee of the family, attacked the victim by strangling her. Kennedy and Motlomelo also stabbed her with a knife in her neck.
They fled with cash and stolen goods. Great Brak River Police arrested the accused two days after the incident.Evidence linked both men to the attack.
