Two killed, two critical in R-72 accident near Alexandria

At least two people have been killed and two others seriously injured in a head-on collision on the R-72 between Nanaga and Alexandria in the Eastern Cape.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell said a truck, transporting rice, collided with a Nissan Navara, which was travelling towards Port Elizabeth on Saturday morning.
He said two people in the Navara were killed instantly, and the Jaws of Life had to be used to free the bodies from the wreck.
Bramwell said the driver of the truck and a passenger were seriously injured, and rushed to hospital.
The cause of the accident was not known, and police were investigating.
