Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for a suspect responsible for the fatal shooting of two people and wounding at least three others in a tavern near Mthatha.
Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says an unknown gunman entered the tavern late on Saturday evening and fired shots at patrons.
She says at this stage, police managed to trace five victims that were shot.
Naidu says one person died at the scene while another later died in hospital.
Two men and a woman who were wounded during the shooting were taken to hospital.
The deceased, a 40-year-old man and a woman of approximately 30 years old have not yet been identified.
Police are investigating two cases of murder and three of attempted murder.
