Two killed in stationary taxi in PE's Northern Areas

Port Elizabeth police say two people were shot and killed and two others wounded in alleged gang-related incidents on Tuesday.

Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says two men entered a stationary taxi at the Korsten Taxi rank in the city on Tuesday morning, but then got off immediately.She says they then started shooting at the passengers inside the taxi, and fled the scene. Two men were fatally wounded.

A third was shot in the back, and he was rushed to hospital.Police also recovered a 6.35 baby browning from inside the taxi and a 9mm Norinco pistol which was thrown in an open veld in CJ Langehoven street.

Naidu says in another incident, a 32 year old man was shot and wounded by unknown suspects in the neck in Gelvandale.It is alleged that at about 13:00, the victim and his friend were walking from Beetlestone road in Gelvandale when the incident happened.All the suspects are still at large.
