Two killed in separate accidents on EC roads

Two people were killed and four others were injured in two separate road accidents in the Eastern Cape on Sunday.

Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell says the accidents happened near Blue Horizon Bay outside Port Elizabeth and in Cambridge, East London.

He says the first accident was just after 2 pm on the Blue Horizon Bay Road where a light delivery vehicle lost control and overturned.

One person was killed and three injured.

Bramwell says the second accident was just after 10 pm on Western Avenue in East London.

A truck and trailer collided head-on with a VW Polo. It is alleged that the driver of the Polo lost control after which he swerved over the road and hit the truck. He died on the scene.

His one passenger was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Bramwell says police are investigating cases of culpable homicide.
