Two people have been killed in a head-on collision between a VW Polo and a Ford Figo on the R-72 near the Nanaga Farm Stall between Alexandria and Port Elizabeth.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell says four others were injured in Friday evening's accident.
"The Figo had five occupants in it, and the Polo had only the driver", Bramwell said.
"In this accident, we had two fatalities - the driver of the Polo died on impact, as well as one rear passenger, who was trapped in the back of the Figo. The jaws-of-life had to be used to free the passenger", he said.
*There were also four other patients, and they were transferred to Dora Nginza Hospital in Port Elizabeth. Two were seriously injured and two others sustained slight injuries", Bramwell said.
He said police were investigating a case of culpable homicide.
