Two people died while two sustained severe injuries following a head-on collision on the N2 between Humansdorp and Plettenberg Bay on Monday morning.
A Provincial Traffic Unathi Binqose spokesperson says the collision happened shortly before 8 am at Witteklip bridge involving a Mini Cooper with one occupant and a Hyundai with three.
He says the male driver of the Hyundai and his female passenger died at the scene while his other passenger and the driver of the Mini were rushed to a hospital in Kareedouw.
It is not yet clear what caused the accident and police in Stormsriver will investigate a case of culpable homicide.
The names of the victims cannot yet be released.
