Eastern Cape police are searching for the gunmen who shot and killed four men in a locality at Ugie on Saturday night.
Police spokesperson, Lt Col Siphokazi Mawisa, said the victims were driving in a Toyota Avanza in the Ntokozweni location when the vehicle came under fire from gunmen using a rifle and handguns.
She said four men, aged between 30 and 35, who were believed to be from Engcob, died on the scene.
Mawisa said the motive for the attack is not yet known and a case of murder is under investigation.

She said police also appealed for assistance in identifying the deceased.
Eastern Cape police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nomthetheleli Mene has condemned the attack as “senseless”, calling on communities to come forward with any relevant information.
