Two people were killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles on the R-63 at Dimbaza near King William's Town early on Sunday morning.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell says a third person sustained serious injuries.
He says a light motor vehicle collided with a light delivery vehicle at around 4.30 am.
Bramwell says the male driver of the light motor vehicle and his female passenger sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead at the scene.
He says the driver of the LDV sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
