Eastern Cape police have arrested six suspects following the murder of two men.
Police spokesperson, Lt Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela says the suspects were arrested on Monday night in Bityi following the death of the men, aged 26 and 40-year old.
Fatyela says the suspects were accused of robbing the local community and raping an elderly women.
The suspects aged between 22 and 39 are to appear in court on Wednesday on a charge of murder.
Fatyela appealed to the community not to take the law into their own hands.
Meanwhile Flagstaff police are investigating a case of murder following the death of a 20-year old man.
Police spokesperson, captain Mduduzi Godlwana says the incident happened on Monday in Marhamza locality whilst the suspect and the deceased were escorting boys from an initiation school.
Godlwana says both men were playing with sticks when the deceased was hit on the the head and died on the way to hospital.
Police say the suspect is known and an arrest is expected soon.
